Lace Topologies

This photograph is a section of ‘Topologies’ by Anne Wilson, whose work currently forms part of the V&A Out of the Ordinary exhibition, which I was fortunate enough to see a few weeks ago. It is beautifully intricate lacework and surprisingly dark and menacing – I kept seeing it as a lacework abstraction of the Chapman brothers’ ‘Disasters of War‘, their 1993 recreation of miniature battle scenes inspired by Goya.

My love for the work of John Galliano knows no bounds and at the news that Dior has just had its January 08 couture show, I am compelled to post a glimpse, described by Jezebel as ‘Twiggy goes to the opera on acid’. Not so little (price tag) but absolutely beautiful (almost definitively so). More images here.

Decorative sushi

My love of sushi can not be underestimated – I am a self-confessed sushi junkie. And, although widely ridiculed by friends when I declared my love for the sushi pillow, I maintain the genius of these pieces designed by Cindy and Mel. (Unlike Hawaiian pizza, which is always, always wrong.)

The Queen: A Cushion

Not normally a fan of ‘the cushion’, this one is a new but firm favorite. Karen Hilton’s shop over at Etsy has this fantastic appliqued Queen Cushion, as well as other cushions featuring such British stalwarts as the bulldog and the whippet.
